There have been some changes to the Macedonian Phalanx since Alexander first set out from Pella, millennia ago, though many of those who left their homes with him serve in his name still.

Of the Kalshodar and the Dracograth we know but these singular warriors, bred and forged for war and the efficient prosecution thereof are simply the front of the army of the Empyraeum. More than ever in these modern times, they need the pilots of the ships that take them to the battlefield, crew to man and woman their spacecraft, engineers, saboteurs....mortal men and women to whom the memory of Alexander is all.

The Kalshodar are the blunt instrument, the head of the ram but they also need the rowers to push behind and add weight to their strength.
